Special Interview with BBMUN’20 Hello BBMUN’20 Team! We are so excited to be with you in the first edition of BBMUN’20! We would like to get to know you closer. Let’s start!

1. Could you please introduce the academic and organization team of the
conference? We are all curious about the heroes behind that amazing conference!

BBMUN’20: Our academic and organization team are all very experienced members of the MUN Community! But we have to say that we are extremely proud to have Aymert Tecer and Betül Alımcı as our advisors.

Our Secretary-General, Umay Göllü, she worked tremendously to bring the academic and organization teams together. In all honesty, we could easily call her the Head of Everything. She has been the start of our project and she is also the MUN Club President of Burdur Bahçeşehir College. When she found the right person to be our Director-General, which was none other than Anıl Sefa Kırçık, they began to work together on the Accommodation, Venue and Sponsorship concerns.

Our Business and Logistics team has been an amazing support to our Director General so far, with Çağatay Gedik and Sıla Kabay, as they are one of the most known people in our beautiful Burdur. For the Staff, Semih Harmankaya is our Head of Administrative Staff and we have Elif Mutlu and Yağmur Ercan as our trainees in Directory. For Press, we have the beautiful duo that is Sezin Çakır and Selin Korkmaz, or as we call them, Sezlin.

To introduce our Academic Team, Our Under Secretaries General are Eylül Seneger, Muhammet Can Kılıç, Yasemin Efe, Mert Cansızoğlu, Massih Bayat and Yüksel Çağlar Baypınar. As for their Academi Assistants, we have Timur Tursun, Aybüke Beyza Kerimoğlu, Ege Sarsılmaz. For our Crisis Team, we have Uğur Emin Baynal, Ata Çınar Genç, Ege Eren.

As you may guess, our Academic Team that consists of members from Ankara, İstanbul, İzmir an Antalya. Our Academic Team is surely Inter-dimensional and all of them are extremely experienced. We will be providing all participants with an unforgeable Academic Experience.

For our Public Relations Team, we picked Dilan Aslan. With the help of our Director General, we picked our PR Team that consists of nine members. We have a crowded organization team, and they are all working hard to answer the participants’ needs.

2. Everyone is curious about the committees and agenda items. What is the best
committee for the first-timers and experienced delegates?

We have GA 1: DISEC, GA 6: LEGAL, UNESCO, WTO and JCC. Our Under Secretary Generals picked the Agenda Items carefully from the already existing concerns of the Committees, and for JCC, our Secretary-General worked together with our USG’s to decide on the topic. We suggest DISEC, LEGAL and UNESCO for our first-timer delegates.

For DISEC, we have the Demilitarization of the Kashmir Valley, and for LEGAL, we focused on the International Extradition Framework and the Issues in Hong Kong and China as we found that the situation was important globally. On UNESCO, we set our focus on the Capacity Building Acvies for Children in Conflict Zones, and also sent a guideline for UNESCO without the US and Israel. We have two crisis’ committees in this edition of BBMUN, and WTO or World Trade Organization will be discussing the Trade of Mass Destruction Weapons, as participants of this committee will be representing Head of States or Ministers, instead of a Country Delegation. For our Joint Crisis Committee, the Agenda Item is the War of 93, or the Russo-Turkish war, as most call it.

3. Honourable SG states in her welcome leer that “Do not skip the conference because the city is far away, we promise that you will feel at home with us and this conference.” Could you please inform us how you will welcome the participants?

That is a great point to note regarding our conference. Our Burdur is a small city, and it’s extremely easy to live in. The people are friendly and welcoming, and we will be treating our respective participants accordingly to the Burdur hospitality. Quotation from our Director-General: “Every city has its own story, and we believe that everybody should give not only BBMUN but also Burdur a chance.

4. We also know that there is one JCC committee for experienced level delegates. What would you like to tell about your crisis committee?

Having a Secretary-General that has almost always worked on Crisis committees one of the biggest factors for BBMUN to have a Crisis Committee. With the help of our advisors, the Under Secretary Generals picked an interesting topic for the respective committee- the War of 93, which is part of The Russo-Turkish campaigns during the fall of the Ottoman Empire. We believed that with our amazing Under Secretary Generals, a unique experience for the delegates could be provided, along with our Crisis team’s support.

5. As you know UNHRC has started a resolution challenge on a global scale for
the MUN conference. Will you join this challenge?

Unfortunately, no. Although we don’t doubt that our conference would be a great participant to the challenge, by the time the challenge was announced, we had already selected our committees and our team. However, we have other committees, that won’t miss out on the opportunity to
create equally good resolutions.

6. There are a lot of MUN conferences around the world recently. To be honest, MUNers have started to be more selective in their preference of the MUN conferences they want to attend and everybody looks for a good reason. From your point of view, why should people take place in this year’s edition of BBMUN’20?

BBMUN’20 is not only a great conference, but it’s also overall a great family. Both our academic and organization team are extremely close to each other and we are one. It’s also important to consider that BBMUN is held in Burdur Bahçeşehir College, which is a BIGEP awarded school.

7. We learned that UNESCO became a sponsor of your conference and delegates
will get a certificate which is going to be affirmed by UNESCO. How did you succeed it?

Our school, being situated right beside Lake Burdur as mentioned before, has been involved in a few projects regarding the environment. When we thought about getting the support of an organization, the first thing that came into our mind was UNESCO. Aer weeks of negations, The Turkish National Commission for UNESCO has agreed to provide the Logo Support to our Badges, Placards and Certificates.

8. We also would like to know more details about your social activities and  MUN party. What kind of social activities will there be in BBMUN’20?

Our PR Team and Head of Entertainment spent hours brainstorming with our Director General to think about activities to keep our participants’ entertained. Although we’d like to keep the details a surprise for the delegates to discover during the conference, we planned more than 10 games for coffee breaks and two social events.

9. Thank you very much for this great interview. We are sure you would like to add more about yourself or MUN world. And, last but not least, what can you tell us about Do you think contributes to the development of MUN conferences and students’ self-improvement?

The only thing we can say about ourselves is that we expect all participants to become part of our big family. The BBMUN Team has and still is working non-stop to give you an unforgeable MUN Conference. And for the last question, is an amazing support to not only Turkish but Worldwide conferences. We as the BBMUN Team are more than grateful for their efforts. Not only do they help students with their programs, but they also provide Chair Trainings, and offer many services through their official website. MUNTurkey is the best place to go to if you want to make sure whether a conference is worth applying for or not, and we are so glad to work with them.
